This film simply tells the life story of Song Huizong and a historical story of the Song Dynasty through an in-depth understanding of the life of Song Huizong and his own poem "Autumn Wave and Mei. In his early years, he enjoyed himself in the palace, indulged in calligraphy and painting and ignored political affairs. Later, he was "the shame of Jingkang". Because of his incompetence in governance and the assistance of eunuchs, he was finally imprisoned. During his imprisonment, he wrote the poem "Autumn and Mei" to lament the past and the present, as well as his pursuit of his own "ideal country. The paintings referred to in the works are from Song Huizong and his contemporaneous painters. Although Song Huizong was incompetent in governing the country, he was extremely accomplished in art. The purpose of this film is to let the audience know more about Song Huizong from the artistic aspect, and secondly, to let the audience have a better understanding of Song Dynasty calligraphy and painting, and to promote the painting art of Song Dynasty.
