Liuhe-Interactive Design of Shanhaijing Digital Game
Description
The design of this game is called "Liuhe", which is taken from the opening chapter of "Shanhaijing, Overseas Nanjing"-contained in the ground, between Liuhe and within the four seas. It refers to the spatial concept of the upper and lower quartet, and also refers to the corresponding changes in the seasons during the twelve months of the year. The game uses digital games as a medium to break the traditional cognitive approach and enhance the player's immersion experience through exploration, competition and other game mechanisms. Taking the close connection between spatial geography and traditional Chinese calendar and farming culture in Shanhaijing as the starting point, we abandon the inherent impression of Shanhaijing and interpret it from a different perspective. In addition, the work innovatively integrates the artistic style that conforms to the current public's aesthetic preference with the traditional pattern modeling. Each game character modeling and element design refer to a large number of historical and cultural bases. Based on the images left by the predecessors, the translation is more in line with the modern public's aesthetic. The traditional Chinese colors are extracted from the color matching. The overall style tries to integrate the characteristics of dark gothic and decadence to make the character modeling distinctive. The original intention of this work is to analyze and sort out the neglected traditional cultural elements and game types in Shanhaijing, and to explore and select appropriate cultural connotations and game forms for design and combination. Build a game with clear rules, clear plot and perfect system functions. While immersing players in the pleasant experience of the game, they focus on the exploration of traditional culture, effectively arouse the players' most essential feelings for national development, and spontaneously excavate and spread profound cultural connotations.
