Description
"Suspended forest" is a cluster tree house dormitory design that starts from solving the problems of the current university dormitory. It broke away from the rigid layout of the traditional dormitory with corridors as the core and standard beds stacked, and instead used the natural image of "tree house" to build a student living system with free growth, flexible plug-in and three-dimensional staggered.
Through the structure of inserting the trunk lifting module, the design arranges various modules such as single room, double room and shared unit at the top of the forest like "nest on branches. Each dormitory unit is not only an independent living container, but also a part of the "tree", which eventually forms a floating dormitory forest. "Suspension" not only refers to the physical structure of the overhead and floating, but also symbolizes the space more light psychological atmosphere. Through terraces, crevices, cascades and visual field guidance, the building gains a sense of breathing, ecology and social permeability, realizing the symbiology of human-building-nature.
We hope that the "suspended forest" is not only a shelter, but also a container for young individuals to pursue freedom, symbiosis and self-growth in the university stage.
