Whale-Immersive Visualization Interactive Experience Based on Cetacean Data
Description
This work is based on the collected biological information related to the main cetaceans, integrates the collected data, expresses it in the form of sound visualization, information map, map, word cloud, etc., and combines the virtual reality development platform to realize the interactive immersive data visualization experience. The types of data used in this work include sound, geographic information, and scientific data. The sound of cetaceans comes from the network. By manually extracting the tone, timbre, frequency and other data information in the audio, it is converted into a sound wave pattern that can be changed in real time. The color of the sound wave pattern changes with the frequency. Cetacean distribution data information from Google, with the help of DXR toolkit, in virtual reality equipment, in the form of three-dimensional map. The scientific data of cetaceans are derived from relevant academic papers, which introduce the biological information of cetaceans in the form of infographic. This work designs two-dimensional visualization charts into three-dimensional, combining visualization with virtual reality to achieve better data display in an immersive environment. This work is divided into four interfaces, namely, information map, sound visualization, word cloud, 3D map. The relevant biological information and sound information of three representative cetaceans: killer whales, humpback whales and blue whales were visually expressed. Each interface has a different way of interaction, and users can better understand the information conveyed by the visualization through the interactive experience in an immersive environment. Presenting visual diagrams in an immersive environment and adding interactive points is the innovation of this work.
