My work "Dunhuang Flying" is divided into two parts, the upper part is the flying dream of ancient Dunhuang, and the lower part is the flying dream of modern science and technology. The first half of the work incorporates the brilliant elements of Dunhuang culture in traditional culture. Dunhuang, located in the Hexi Corridor, connects the Western Regions and the Central Plains. It is a distinctive symbol of the diversity of Chinese culture. Through the use of Mogao Grottoes, Dunhuang Buddha statues, crane, heavenly female flying sky and other images, it depicts the ancient people's beautiful dream of exploring the sky and the moon. The second half uses modern scientific and technological elements: satellites, rockets, high-speed rail, etc., through the rockets flying out of the clouds to the sky, showing the progress of modern science and technology, and sending the news of flying to the sky to comfort the ancestors. The work uses different tones through the upper and lower parts to express the changes that have taken place in the past and the present. The longing Kongming lantern and modern rocket flying technology connect modern and ancient, sky and underground, showing the ancient and modern exchanges and long history of Chinese civilization, and expressing the inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture.
