Nowadays, with the rapid development of science and technology, the use of new media to spread traditional culture is a very effective method. This paper mainly discusses the significance, creative process, method and effect of traditional culture animation video. Through the way of two-dimensional animation with the help of new media to promote Chinese traditional culture, to carry forward the excellent traditional culture has a positive effect. Through the creation and dissemination of Chinese culture series animation video programs, combined with the Internet from the media, to achieve the spread of campus traditional culture is an effective way of communication. Combine animation video with traditional culture, spread it on campus, inherit Chinese traditional culture, promote socialist core values, let college students have a deeper understanding of traditional culture, and encourage the new generation to continue to innovate. China's traditional culture has a long history, and protecting and spreading traditional culture is something we must always keep in mind and put into action. Through group discussion to determine the theme of animation, share creative ideas, brainstorm, combined with network research, and finally establish the theme, to promote the traditional Chinese festival. Scene design is an indispensable element of an animation, and the difference of scene design will directly affect the overall style and expression effect of the animation. Scene design can not only pay attention to visual effects, excessive pursuit of the beauty and artistry of the picture, will ignore the rationality and authenticity of the scene design. After continuous modification, the background and micro-video protagonist sketch are drawn to finally complete the plane creation. The script is the guiding principle of animation, and different scripts are created according to different themes. The creation of the script should be complete and orderly and reasonable, and should not be too divorced from reality. The drawing of the sub-lens needs to be created according to the script.
